Before I had my break from blogging I did a weekly linkup called “Currently.” The host of that linkup no longer does them and as far as I can tell it’s not active anymore but I figured I could still continue to do the posts. I had fun with them and people seemed to like them. So here is what I am up to…..currently…..

Reading – I just picked up “1984” by George Orwell. My family had signed up for the summer reading program at our library and I was browsing the shelves to see if anything stuck out to me. My daughter actually pulled this one out and said “This looks like a good one mommy.” Well, it is a classic and I would imagine for good reason but I had never read it so I checked it out. I haven’t read much of it yet but I like it so far so I think I’ll stick with it. I also picked up “Animal Farm” since it is also a classic and was right next to it. I did read that one in middle school but I figured I might as well revisit it. I’d love to hear about what everyone else is reading this summer in the comments.

Watching – Orange is the New Black on Netflix. The newest season was just released last week. Need I say more? I’m also occassionally re-watching Supernatural and Breaking Bad with the hubby. Pick up a Netflix gift card on Amazon for that special father or father figure in your life. What are you watching on Netflix(or elsewhere) this month?

Listening to – Sesame Street Silly Songs….every….single….day. I picked this up on cd from the library once on a whim and now my toddler is positively obsessed with it. There are tons of cute songs and it’s really not that awful to listen to. My 7 year old likes it as well. I admit that I would love to be able to turn on NPR in the car like I used to but at the moment, it’s either “silly songs” or screaming baby. I think I’ll take Grover.

Oh my gosh I remember reading 1984 in high school! It’s got so much deeper meaning than it appears to. Enjoy!

Currently I am reading Final Vows by Karen Kingsbury….watching Life in Pieces on Netflix……and listening to country music for the few minutes that I am in the car. I remember the days of listening to toddler/kid music!!

I’m currently obsessed with The Handmaids Tale on Hulu. I’m both excited and devastated that the finale is tomorrow.

I feel you on Sesame Street songs! They play over and over and over! Sometimes we involuntarily break into those songs and my husband and i just die laughing!

I like this idea. May I borrow it sometime. Also, the book sounds good adding that to my list.

absolutely! It wasn’t my original idea either. I used to be part of a link up that did these but from what I can tell it’s not active anymore but some bloggers still do it on their own

I’m watching Orange is the New Black. I can get so consumed with binge watching Netflix. I only have one episode left this for this season!
